With Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Korea Tourism Organization, 'Summer Lodging Sale Festa' runs through July 31; up to 70,000 won ($46) off per person

South Gyeongsang Province is offering lodging discount vouchers to revive tourism and local economies in depopulating areas of the province ahead of the summer holiday season. The provincial government announced Sunday it is jointly running the "2026 Korea Summer Lodging Sale Festa" with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization.

The discount applies to 11 cities and counties in the province — Miryang and the counties of Uiryeong, Haman, Changnyeong, Goseong, Namhae, Hadong, Sancheong, Hamyang, Geochang and Hapcheon — at participating accommodations registered under the Tourism Promotion Act and the Public Health Control Act.

A total of 300,000 vouchers will be issued nationwide on a first-come, first-served basis, with no separate allocation set aside for South Gyeongsang. Anyone aged 19 or older may claim one voucher per person. For a single-night stay, guests receive 30,000 won ($22) off if the room rate is 70,000 won ($46) or more, or 20,000 won ($14) off if it falls below that threshold. For stays of two or more consecutive nights, the discount rises to 70,000 won ($46) when the total exceeds 140,000 won ($92), or 50,000 won ($34) when it does not.

Travelers can download vouchers through participating online travel agency platforms and apply them at the time of booking and payment. Available properties vary by platform, so guests should confirm eligible accommodations before reserving.

The event runs from June 11 through July 31. Full details on participating travel agencies and how to use the vouchers are available on the official "2026 Korea Summer Lodging Sale Festa" website.

"We will actively promote this event so that it expands extended-stay tourism in depopulating areas of the province and boosts sales for local small businesses," said Kim Sang-won, director of the South Gyeongsang Province Tourism Development Bureau.
