North Gyeongsang Province has designated six new "2026 Wellness Tourism Sites," selecting destinations with distinctive local healing resources and content to meet growing demand for travel focused on physical and mental well-being, the provincial government announced Monday.

The newly selected sites are Sonokem Gyeongju Wellness Pool & Spa (Gyeongju), Seonseong-hyeon Cultural Complex (Andong), Sadamjae Stay (Mungyeong), St. Benedict Cultural Spirituality Center (Chilgok), the National Baekdudaegan Arboretum (Bonghwa) and the Uljin-gun Yacht School (Uljin).

This year's selections span four categories — one beauty and spa facility, one healing and meditation center, two stay-type retreats and two nature therapy destinations — reflecting the breadth of healing resources the province has to offer.

With the new additions, the total number of designated wellness tourism sites in North Gyeongsang Province has grown from 24 to 30.

The province said it will go beyond simply listing the sites and will provide support covering tourists' entire travel journey, with the aim of delivering high-quality tourism services that visitors can genuinely experience.

Plans also include operating travel agency-linked tourism products, running discount promotions of up to 50 percent through online platforms, and participating in domestic and international trade fairs alongside online and offline promotional campaigns.

"We will continue to actively identify wellness tourism sites that capture the unique character of North Gyeongsang Province and build the region into a high-quality healing tourism destination that visitors can trust," said Park Chan-woo, director of the province's Culture, Tourism and Sports Bureau.
