"Adhesive protective film … shields oral mucosa and surgical wound sites"
Czbio (CEO Yoo Hyun-seung), an affiliate of Daewoong Pharmaceutical, has developed and launched a spray-type skin protection medical device called the EGF MD Spray.
The product incorporates Daewoong Pharmaceutical's highly active epidermal growth factor "DW-EGF" and a nanoclay-based formulation. It is designed to be sprayed directly onto oral mucosa or wound sites.
The company said the product forms an adhesive protective film on skin and mucosal surfaces after application, shielding wound sites from external irritants and contaminants. It also helps maintain an appropriate moist environment around wounds, the company added.
The spray format minimizes direct contact while allowing easy application over wide or hard-to-reach areas. The nanoclay-based viscous formulation ensures stable adhesion to the application site, the company added.
"It can be applied not only to skin but also to oral mucosa," a Czbio official said. "This is a skin protection medical device that combines DW-EGF and nanoclay technology to deliver both ease of use and wound protection simultaneously."
