The "Grabity Hair Recovery PDRN Shampoo," a new product from Polyphenol Factory's hair care brand Grabity, sold out its entire initial stock within three days of launch.

Officially released June 8, the product sold out as orders poured into Grabity's official online store. The shampoo has since strung together a series of sales milestones: when it first launched domestically in 2024, the initial stock was gone within 109 hours; it then sold out on Olive Young's online platform in 39 minutes, generated 1 billion won (about $657,000) in sales during a 40-minute broadcast slot on Lotte Home Shopping's "Choi Yu-ra Show," and sold out on Amazon in the United States.

The product incorporates "Coacervate" technology developed using PDRN derived from marine microalgae — successfully mass-cultured by a research team led by KAIST Chair Professor Lee Hae-shin — combined with polyphenol adhesive compounds to help PDRN remain in the hair longer. It also contains a high-purity PDRN Complex at 100,000 ppm, along with the original Grabity shampoo's volume, texture and shine care technologies, 'LiftMax308·LiftMax615.'

In a certified human application test, hair loss during washing fell by 73.66 percent after two weeks of use. The product has also received Excellent certification from Germany's Dermatest and EVE VEGAN certification from France.

Lee Hae-shin, CEO of Polyphenol Factory, said the Grabity PDRN Shampoo marks "the first case of commercializing PDRN derived from marine microalgae — cultured directly by our research team — into a hair care product." He added that the company had found a way to include an ingredient that weighs both efficacy and sustainability, without relying on animal-derived raw materials, in a product consumers use every day.

Grabity immediately switched to pre-order sales after the sellout. Additional stock is expected to arrive June 15, with shipments to follow in pre-order sequence.
