Joint statement from Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, Ministry of Economy and Finance, and Financial Services Commission
Posts circulating online about a comprehensive real estate package are false, agencies say
Government to seek additional investigation referrals following February action
The government has officially denied posts spreading across the internet and social media about a so-called "comprehensive real estate package," calling them groundless and vowing a firm response.
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, the Ministry of Economy and Finance, and the Financial Services Commission issued a joint statement Wednesday urging the public to exercise caution regarding reports on posts about a comprehensive real estate package circulating online.
"The content related to a comprehensive real estate package currently circulating on the internet is not true," the agencies said. They added that similar posts had already been referred to investigators in February on suspicion of obstruction of official duties through deception, and that the investigation is ongoing.
The agencies said they plan to seek additional investigation referrals over the latest round of posts and will take strong action against any similar cases in the future.
The posts, which spread through online communities and social media in recent weeks, claimed the government was about to announce a sweeping package covering real estate taxation, lending regulations and housing supply expansion. The joint statement appeared aimed at cutting off market confusion by making clear that no such policy had been officially reviewed or finalized.
The government urged the public and media to exercise particular caution with unverified policy information, warning that such posts could stoke market anxiety.
