Partnering with BeCLEAN to recruit cosmetics, fragrance and inner beauty firms
Top performers linked to Hyundai Department Store online and offline listings
Applications open on Panpandaero until 6 p.m. June 26
Korea SME & Startup Distribution Corp. is teaming up with Hyundai Department Store to expand offline retail access for small and medium-sized cosmetics companies. The initiative will use department store pop-up spaces to gauge consumer response, with top-performing companies offered a path to permanent listings.
The agency, known by its Korean acronym KOSDI, announced Wednesday it will partner with Hyundai Department Store's beauty select shop BeCLEAN to open a pop-up store and recruit 50 small and medium-sized beauty companies to participate.
The pop-up will launch at the high-traffic Hyundai Department Store Pangyo branch before expanding to additional locations. The program aims to broaden consumer touchpoints for small-company products through the department store's physical retail space.
Eligible companies include those dealing in cosmetics, fragrances, body and hair products, beauty devices, and inner beauty health supplements. Participating firms will introduce their products directly to consumers at the pop-up and can use sales data and on-site feedback to refine products and review marketing strategies.
Companies that post strong sales results may be connected to BeCLEAN's online and offline store listings at Hyundai Department Store. KOSDI said the program gives small beauty companies a meaningful opportunity to test market access at a time when barriers to entering major retail networks remain high.
Companies wishing to apply can check eligibility requirements and application documents on the Panpandaero website. The application deadline is 6 p.m. on June 26.
The initiative is part of KOSDI's marketing support program. Beyond the pop-up store, the agency plans to continue expanding retail support for small and medium-sized enterprises through offline promotional events, listings on the online platform "The Hyundai Hi," and marketing capacity-building programs.
"We expect this pop-up, held in a prime commercial district that draws large numbers of consumers, to be a real help to small beauty companies that urgently need product exposure," a KOSDI official said. "We will support the growth of outstanding small cosmetics companies so that the sales experience and consumer feedback they gain on-site can fuel their next leap forward."
