As the official mobility partner of FIFA World Cup 2026, Hyundai Motor Co is extending the tournament's energy into the gaming world to offer customers a new kind of brand experience.

Hyundai Motor said Wednesday it is partnering with global game developer Epic Games to engage football fans and gamers worldwide through World Cup-themed events in the popular titles Rocket League and Fortnite.

Hyundai Motor has sponsored the FIFA World Cup for roughly 27 years since 1999. Through this collaboration, the company plans to offer the public a new form of brand experience by creating synergy across the distinct worlds of mobility, sports and gaming.

As part of the Epic Games partnership, Hyundai Motor will introduce an Ioniq 6 N Line vehicle item and a World Cup sponsorship-exclusive decal in Rocket League — the dynamic soccer game played with cars — from Thursday through July 19.

During that period, players can choose one of the 48 nations that qualified for the FIFA World Cup finals and compete as that country's national team representative. Every goal scored in a match adds to the chosen nation's cumulative tally, and the country with the highest total score at the end wins.

Players who complete 10 quests during the event period can earn the Ioniq 6 N Line vehicle item, and those who drive 8,000 meters or more with that vehicle will receive the Hyundai Motor World Cup sponsorship-exclusive decal.

Hyundai Motor is also rolling out a range of activities as part of its 2026 World Cup campaign, "The Future Starts Now," which stems from the brand's vision of "Progress for Humanity."

Working with Rocket League influencers and professional gamers, Hyundai Motor will host a tournament called the "Next Starts Now Cup, presented by Hyundai," open exclusively to players using the Ioniq 6 N Line vehicle, as a way to connect with gaming fans around the world.

Tournament matches will be broadcast via live streaming on the participating influencers' personal channels. Hyundai Motor said it aims to let users experience the brand in multiple ways — whether by playing the game themselves or watching others compete.

Hyundai Motor will also run weekly missions in Fortnite, Epic Games' flagship battle royale title, from June 25 through July 19. Players who complete various missions can earn the Ioniq 6 N Line vehicle item — usable as a key mode of in-game transportation — along with the World Cup sponsorship-exclusive decal.

The collaboration extends beyond the digital space. Hyundai Motor plans to operate World Cup-themed exhibitions at all Hyundai Motorstudio locations, with dedicated gaming experience zones set up in Goyang and Busan.

"If the World Cup is the biggest stage connecting football fans around the world, Rocket League and Fortnite are platforms where millions of gamers interact every day," said Ji Seong-won, executive vice president and head of brand marketing at Hyundai Motor. "Through this collaboration, we expect to connect more deeply with fans worldwide at the intersection of mobility, sports and gaming during the World Cup."

Meanwhile, Hyundai Motor has been actively expanding its football marketing into mobile gaming to reach the digital generation — most recently running the "Hyundai Next Cup Tour" event in April in Top Eleven, a mobile football management game.
