Stay-and-sightseeing packages available at six locations through August
Eland Park's Kensington Hotels & Resorts is rolling out experience-based travel packages that bundle accommodation with admission tickets to local attractions at six of its properties.
The company announced Tuesday it will offer the "Playcation" (PLAY+VACATION) packages through Aug. 31, ahead of the summer holiday season, as part of an effort to boost domestic tourism. Each package pairs a guest room with admission tickets or preferential access to nearby attractions, built around a simple stay-and-explore concept.
The Playcation packages are available at two Kensington Hotels and four Kensington Resorts, for a total of six locations. Each package includes one night's accommodation, admission benefits for two at a local attraction, and additional perks that vary by property. Prices start at 119,900 won (about $78).
Kensington Hotel Pyeongchang's package includes admission for two to Daegwallyeong Sheep Ranch, along with one night's stay, a breakfast buffet for two, two French Garden lattes, a 10,000 won ($7) food and beverage voucher, and access to the indoor pool and sauna.
Kensington Resort Seorak Beach has paired its package with admission to Hani Lavender Farm, located about 30 minutes from the resort by car. A lavender festival runs at the farm from June 10 through June 25.
Kensington Resort Jirisan Namwon includes a "Chunhyang Travel Pass" covering six major attractions in Namwon: Gwanghallu Garden, Chunhyang Theme Park, Jirisan Herb Valley, Suji Art Museum, the Baekdudaegan Ecological Education Exhibition Hall, and the Aviation and Space Astronomy Observatory. Guests who check in on a weekday receive a 9 a.m. early check-in and a noon late checkout.
"We designed these packages so travelers can enjoy both accommodation and local sightseeing in one trip during the summer holiday season," a Kensington Hotels & Resorts official said. "We plan to keep developing tailored products that highlight the distinctive character of regional tourism."
