Employees clean up Mireuksaji ecological trail

Twice-yearly cleanups held since 2015

33 million won ($21,300) donated to 'Green Iksan' initiative over three years

TYM, a global agricultural machinery company, said Tuesday that employees at its Iksan factory carried out an environmental cleanup along the ecological trail near Mireuksaji in Iksan, North Jeolla Province.

The cleanup took place June 4. Staff from the factory's Production Division 1, TQM Division and Procurement Strategy Division collected discarded household waste and litter from around the trail.

The Mireuksaji ecological trail is a nature walkway near the Mireuksaji Stone Pagoda, a national treasure. The area draws local residents and tourists alike, and TYM has continued the cleanups as part of its direct stewardship of the environment around its factory.

The Iksan factory has held twice-yearly cleanups — once each in the first and second halves of the year — at nearby ecological and park areas since 2015. A second cleanup is planned for later this year at Seodong Park in Iksan.

TYM has also paired the cleanups with donations to support green space development. The company donated 13 million won to the Green Iksan Movement Headquarters in 2024 and 10 million won in 2025, then gave another 10 million won this year, bringing its total contributions over the past three years to 33 million won ($21,300).

"This activity, where we personally walk the area near the Iksan factory every year to care for the environment, reminds us of our responsibility as members of the local community," said Lee Ju-young, TYM's chief procurement officer. "We will keep working to grow alongside the region."

Beyond the cleanups, TYM said it plans to continue and expand its broader ESG activities aimed at coexisting with local communities and advancing corporate social responsibility and sustainable development.
