Agency visits energy infrastructure site to strengthen on-site support
The Public Procurement Service visited a natural gas supply facility construction site in Gongju, South Chungcheong Province, on Tuesday to conduct an on-site inspection of asphalt concrete supply ahead of the monsoon season.
The visit aimed to ensure smooth progress at the energy infrastructure construction site and to strengthen field-centered administrative support.
Korea Gas Corp.'s Gongju Complex and Buyeo-gun Natural Gas Supply Facility Construction Project is a key infrastructure project to expand the gas supply network. Timely completion of major construction phases and prompt material delivery before the rainy season are critical at the site.
During the inspection, officials focused on the status of raw materials procurement, production and delivery conditions for asphalt concrete, and materials management procedures in the event of rain. They also gathered feedback from on-site personnel.
The Procurement Service has been pursuing proactive, field-centered measures in response to recent raw materials market fluctuations, including revising price adjustment standards and simplifying documentation requirements. In addition, the agency has designated priority supply sites through public-private cooperation to closely monitor materials supply conditions.
"Timely materials supply at each construction phase is paramount for major infrastructure projects that expand the energy supply chain," said Kang Seong-min, deputy commissioner of the Public Procurement Service. "We will continue to provide field-centered supply management and support so that construction can proceed smoothly even during the monsoon season."
