Kangwon Land's audit committee held a joint workshop Sunday with the Public Golf and Hotel Audit Council, a consortium of public institutions in the golf and hotel sectors, at High1 Grand Hotel. The workshop focused on adapting audit operations to AI transformation and strengthening internal controls.

About 30 audit representatives and auditors attended, including Ahn Gwang-bok, standing audit committee member of Kangwon Land; Cha Sang-cheol, standing auditor of the Public Officials Benefit Association; Lee Chun-ho, standing auditor of the Korean Teachers' Credit Union; and Lee Uk-hee, standing auditor of the Korean Local Government Employees' Mutual Aid Association.

Presenters from each institution shared best practices in internal controls covering golf, hotel and information security operations, as well as each organization's current AI adoption status and strategy. Participants agreed to coordinate jointly on strengthening audit capabilities and advancing internal control systems across public institutions.

The Public Golf and Hotel Audit Council, known by its acronym PGHA, was established in 2024. Six institutions are active members: Kangwon Land, the Korea Tourism Organization, the Korea Sports Promotion Foundation, the Public Officials Benefit Association, the Korean Teachers' Credit Union and the Korean Local Government Employees' Mutual Aid Association. The council works to build audit capabilities tailored to the golf and hotel sectors, with the aim of strengthening preventive oversight and contributing to management improvement.

"This joint workshop was organized to help public institutions respond collectively and advance together as AI transformation accelerates and spreads," Ahn said. "We will work to upgrade risk management for key projects including golf and hotel operations by sharing AI-based audit frameworks, and to rebuild public trust in our institutions."
