Street cheering events will be held around Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul for South Korea's matches at the 2026 North America World Cup.

The Korea Football Association announced Monday that it will host three outdoor cheering events at Gwanghwamun Square — on June 12, June 19 and June 25 — in partnership with official sponsor KT Corp and the national team supporters group Red Devils.

A main stage and relay screens will be set up across the square, with matches broadcast live on two large media walls installed at KT Gwanghwamun Building West.

Street cheering has been a fixture of South Korean football culture since the 2002 Korea-Japan World Cup. While private sponsors and companies initially led the events, the Korea Football Association and the Seoul Metropolitan Government have jointly organized them since the 2018 Russia World Cup.

Alongside the cheering events, a South Korea national team pop-up will open on the second floor of KT Gwanghwamun Building West at KT Onmaru. A "Heritage Zone" will display 10 commemorative plaques from South Korea's past FIFA World Cup appearances, along with national team jerseys worn at previous tournaments.
