Six-week 'Wibee Kill Shot' event crowns its grand prize winner
Woori Investment Securities has selected the grand prize winner of its customer stock prediction game "Wibee Kill Shot" and presented a Mercedes-Benz S-Class valued at 160 million won ($104,000) as the prize.
The company held a vehicle handover ceremony for the winning customer at a Mercedes-Benz showroom in Mapo-gu, Seoul, on Friday, it announced Monday.
"Wibee Kill Shot" is a customer participation event run on Woori Investment Securities' mobile trading system "Woori WON MTS." Each morning, five stocks were revealed and participants chose one, predicting whether its share price would rise or fall on the following trading day.
The event ran for six weeks from April 13 to May 22. Woori Investment Securities named the customer with the longest consecutive correct prediction streak over the entire period as the grand prize winner.
The company said customers were drawn to the event by the chance to sharpen their investment instincts by analyzing market trends and building a streak of correct calls.
"I joined every morning for the fun of predicting the market, so I'm truly thrilled to have this kind of luck on top of it," the winning customer said. "It was a great experience that made investing feel approachable."
Nam Gi-cheon, chief executive of Woori Investment Securities, attended the ceremony and personally congratulated the winner.
"Wibee Kill Shot was designed so customers could easily and enjoyably experience the process of reading the market and making their own judgments," Nam said. "We will continue to raise customer satisfaction through services and content that enrich the investment experience."
Woori Investment Securities has posted sharp earnings growth in its first year since launching. First-quarter net profit reached 14 billion won, a 13-fold increase from the same period last year, while first-quarter operating profit of 16.6 billion won already surpassed the company's full-year figure for last year. Net operating revenue rose 75.0 percent year-on-year to 70.1 billion won. The company is also pressing ahead with a 1 trillion won rights offering to strengthen its business competitiveness and accelerate expansion.
Woori Investment Securities plans to expand customer participation content through Woori WON MTS, making investment information more accessible and engaging, while continuing to build differentiated services that connect customers to the market.
