Three-dimensional green flower beds installed along 95-meter stretch to enhance waterside scenery
Seodaemun-gu announced Monday that it has completed a "flower wall path," or "Kkotdamgil," along roughly 95 meters of concrete retaining wall near Pobang Bridge on Hongjecheon stream.
The project was carried out under the district's "Hongjecheon Green Curtain" initiative to give residents a more pleasant waterside environment.
The stretch was planted with 15 round golden euonymus, 21 golden arborvitae, 40 hydrangeas, 600 winter jasmine and 350 climbing roses to bring seasonal color to the area.
The varied trees and flowers complement existing murals along the wall, adding a richer visual experience for passersby.
Funded through the district's participatory budgeting program, the project has improved the pedestrian environment by expanding green space along an urban stream.
Seodaemun-gu said it plans to continue developing green and floral landscapes along the streamside to foster a more nature-friendly environment.
