Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, who has been at the forefront of the AI revolution, said he is a fan of K-pop singer Hwasa.
The tvN variety show "You Quiz on the Block" posted a teaser clip on its Instagram account Sunday, captioned: "Jensen Huang gives a shoutout to Hwasa! After Park Jung-min and Kim Nam-gil, is Jensen Huang next?"
In the clip, host Yoo Jae-suk asked Huang whether he really listens to K-pop while working. Huang replied, "Who doesn't love 'Golden'?" — referring to the song from the animated series "K-Pop Demon Hunters" — before singing the track's climactic lyric "Up, up, up" and calling it "a true masterpiece."
Huang then said he also loves Hwasa's music. "Hwasa is incredibly charming," he said. "I love 'Good Goodbye,' and her new song 'So Cute' is great too."
"Good Goodbye" was released last October and drew wide attention after Hwasa performed it with actor Park Jung-min at the Blue Dragon Film Awards. "So Cute" came out in April this year.
Yoo marveled that Huang even knew the new song, joking, "Hwasa's 'So Cute' is going to blow up again — oh, Hwasa must be thrilled." Huang added that she has outstanding vocal ability and is also an exceptional dancer.
In a separate teaser clip, the show asked Huang which of three Korean business leaders — Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong, Hyundai Motor Group Chairman Euisun Chung or SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won — he is closest to. Huang was shown responding, "That's easy."
Huang, who is currently visiting South Korea, filmed the episode Saturday. The show is set to air Wednesday.
