20 small and midsize companies to participate at Guro District Office on June 16, offering on-site interviews, career counseling and resume photo services
Guro-gu will hold the "2026 Guro-gu Middle-Aged Job Fair" from 2 to 5 p.m. on June 16 at the fifth-floor auditorium of the Guro District Office, the district announced.
The fair aims to connect middle-aged job seekers with employment information and on-site interview opportunities, while giving participating companies a chance to recruit experienced talent from that age group.
Twenty small and midsize companies seeking to hire middle-aged workers are expected to take part. Job seekers can conduct one-on-one interviews with recruiters on the spot and receive individual career counseling from professional consultants.
A range of side programs will also run alongside the main fair. The district has prepared sessions including career and certification planning consultations, a smartphone lifestyle clinic, a fingerprint aptitude test, a health checkup experience and resume photo services.
The smartphone lifestyle clinic will offer one-on-one guidance on everyday digital skills — Naver navigation, sending faxes via smartphone, managing photos and documents, and scanning QR codes. A health checkup booth will provide basic screenings including blood pressure and body composition measurements.
Partner organizations will also be on hand, including the Seoul Gwanak Employment and Welfare Plus Center, the Korea Labor Foundation's Seoul West Middle-Aged Tomorrow Center, the Guro Women's Human Resources Development Center, the Seoul Metropolitan Government's 50 Plus Southern Campus and the Guro-gu Job Center. They will offer guidance on the national employment support system, mid-career counseling, support for those returning to work after career breaks and job placement consulting.
The district plans to conduct pre-event matching between job seekers and companies before the fair, so that on-site interviews can lead to concrete hiring outcomes.
"I hope this job fair provides real, practical help to middle-aged job seekers preparing to re-enter the workforce or change careers," district mayor Jang In-hong said. "We will continue to support this age group so they can make a stable comeback in a rapidly changing job market."
