Chilgok-gun in North Gyeongsang Province announced Monday it will develop a "four-seasons tree village" at Songjeong Natural Recreation Forest, offering visitors a forest retreat for rest and healing year-round.
The county will invest 130 million won (about $84,300) in the project at Songjeong Natural Recreation Forest, creating a space for seasonal gatherings and memories.
Targeting completion next month, the project will transform the existing "Forest Meeting Square" area within the recreation forest into a green sanctuary open throughout the year.
The village will evoke each season — spring blossoms, summer shade, autumn foliage and a Santa-themed winter setting — and will include amenities such as a foot bath and shaded seating walls.
Alongside this, the county plans to operate an outdoor water play area during the peak summer season from July 15 to Aug. 24.
"I hope visitors will come to Songjeong Natural Recreation Forest this summer and enjoy a forest getaway at the newly built four-seasons tree village and the cool, clean water play area, creating happy summer memories," Chilgok-gun Mayor Kim Jae-wook said.
