Exit polls from all major broadcasters show the Democratic Party of Korea leading in both Seoul and Busan — the two races widely seen as deciding the outcome of Wednesday's local elections.
In the Seoul mayoral race, a joint exit poll conducted by KBS, MBC and SBS for the 9th nationwide simultaneous local elections showed Democratic Party candidate Jung Won-oh at 51.4 percent against People Power Party incumbent Oh Se-hoon at 46.0 percent.
A separate JTBC survey put Jung further ahead, at 53.5 percent to Oh's 42.9 percent.
In Busan, the three-broadcaster joint poll showed Democratic Party candidate Jeon Jae-soo at 50.2 percent against People Power Party incumbent Park Heong-joon at 48.3 percent.
The JTBC poll also gave Jeon the lead, at 53.9 percent to Park's 44.4 percent.
Figures are drawn from the joint exit poll conducted by KBS, MBC and SBS, and from a separate survey by JTBC.
