Seo Gang-seok, the People Power Party's candidate for Songpa-gu district chief, cast his ballot Wednesday morning alongside his wife, Seo Gyeong-ae, at Wirye-dong Polling Station No. 7, set up at Deoksu High School in Geoyeo-dong, Songpa-gu, Seoul.
Speaking to reporters after voting, Seo called on residents to turn out. "As free democratic citizens and members of this nation, today is a sacred day to exercise our sovereignty. Please come to the polls and make your voice heard," he said. "Every candidate has campaigned with sincerity and dedication, and we are all humbly awaiting the choice of the sovereign people. I trust you will make the right one."
The day before, after wrapping up the final day of legal campaigning, Seo wrote on social media that he had competed against his opponents on policy and campaign pledges — without negative campaigning or mudslinging — with genuine effort and in keeping with democratic principles. "I now await the choice of Songpa-gu's discerning free democratic citizens," he wrote.
