Gwangjin-gu will run its 2026 outdoor library program, "Gwangjin Wonderland – Discover Your Taste," near the Rainbow Fountain at the rear gate of Seoul Children's Grand Park from May 5 to June 13.

The event is organized in conjunction with the Children's Garden Festival and is designed to give residents a chance to relax with books in a natural urban setting while enriching their cultural lives. It will run every Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. — 12 sessions in total — and will be canceled in the event of rain.

"Gwangjin Wonderland," the flagship brand of the district's outdoor library project, offers an open-air reading experience in nature. This year's theme, "Discover Your Taste," encourages visitors to step away from conventional reading habits and explore books that match their individual personalities and interests. The venue is divided into three distinct themed zones, each designed to immerse visitors in a different facet of personal taste.

The Taste Pop-up Zone showcases sensory-driven content that blends reading with hands-on experiences — including collaborations with independent bookstores, book-perfume making and bookbinding workshops.

The Pop-up Library Zone features a mobile bookshelf called the "Library Damas," creating a distinctive visual centerpiece. A professional librarian has curated five themed book collections — travel, food, hobbies, health and romance — so visitors can easily find titles suited to their interests.

The Kids Zone is dedicated to children and families, combining play and reading to help young visitors develop a natural affinity for books.

Beyond book lending, the program offers a rich lineup of cultural events. Jazz duo Blue Train will perform at the opening on May 5 to mark the launch, and book concerts, small music recitals and book talks are scheduled throughout the run.

"The outdoor library is an open, multi-cultural space where books, nature and culture come together," a district official said. "We hope families, friends and couples will visit Gwangjin Wonderland, take a moment to unwind from daily life and discover what they truly love."

Detailed schedules and participation information are available on the Gwangjin-gu Outdoor Library's official Instagram account.
